Movie Screening: Chasing Ice
In the spring of 2005, acclaimed environmental photographer James Balog headed to the Arctic on a tricky assignment for National Geographic: to capture images to help tell the story of the Earth’s changing climate. Even with a scientific upbringing, Balog had been a skeptic about climate change. But that first trip north opened his eyes to the biggest story in human history and sparked a challenge within him that would put his career and his very well-being at risk.
Join us for some snacks, discussion, and a chance to make art inspired by the climate crisis. Read more: https://chasingice.com/
Climate & Community Thanksgiving
Hosted by Environment Colorado Monday, November 25, 2019 at 5:30 PM – 8 PM 1818 N Royer, Colorado Springs, CO 80907
Come join Environment Colorado for a community Thanksgiving in Colorado Springs! We'll gather at one of our intern's homes and enjoy a home-cooked meal and good company. The purpose of this Thanksgiving is both to engage community members with different environmental groups, and invite students who aren't able to go home for the holiday. This is potluck style with a twist-- you should come with a story about the environmental and social cost behind the food you bring, or facts about how it is impacted by climate change. Although bringing food is OPTIONAL. We can't wait to see you there! Please RSVPWE thrive because of your support! This is YOUR party, we do good work and we have lots of work to do. Join us with your money or time, all support is needed and appreciated. Bring your passion, energy and ideas and together we advance the progressive Democratic values in El Paso County! Contributions welcome!
