UPAC meeting public comment!

Hosted by 350 Colorado Springs and 2 others Wednesday, 8 - 10AM 121 S Tejon St, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Please join us for public comment at this months Utilities Policy Advisory Committee meeting at the plaza of the Rockies fifth floor in the blue river boardroom from 8am-10:30am. It is imperative that the public speaks out at this meeting!

One commissioner at the October meeting suggested that human health should be "struck" as a consideration in electric generation planning since CSU is meeting EPA guidelines. Please note that Drake alone is emitting 3.5 tons/DAY (7000 lbs) of NOx not to mention all the other pollutants. In addition to sulfur dioxide (the only pollutant addressed by our $200M scrubbers), and nitrous oxides (to the tune of 3.5 tons daily), Drake also emits: barium, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen fluoride, lead, manganese, mercury, nickel, vanadium, arsenic, cobalt, molybdenum, selenium and zinc. Please help us let the UPAC members know that we cannot ignore public health and safety when deciding to retire the drake coal plant. Please come and give up to three minutes of comment! 📷NOV 13
